>>> martini night

Last night I walked into my mother's room at 8 o'clock. She was lieing in bed, she's generally one to go to bed early but for some reason I felt this was odd.

"Mother what are you doing?"

"Hiding..." she said with the blanket pulled over her mouth.

"Hiding from what?" I questioned her.

"...you." she said like a child.

"Why?"

"Because..." she began to slur her words, "it was martini night at the stake house."

I laughed at her, "Mom, how many martinis did you have?" I asked.

"Two," she responded. Still only her eyes peering over the blanket.

"You only had two martinis?" I laughed at how un-sober she sounded.

She through down the blanket, "They were stong!" she exclaimed.

I laughed at her and walked out of the room. Sometimes she just cracks me up.
